Framingham Food Programs
Our Goal is to Provide Our Community with Access to Healthy Food Services
We offer multiple healthy food channels to promote physical and emotional health community-wide. We provide our neighbors-in-need with a consistent supply of high-quality, healthy, and nutritionally sound food. We supply food relief and nutrition education through a weekly food market, community freezer locations, and education. Learn more about our food programs below.
Our focus is to provide our clients with a unique Farm to Bag experience. A variety of farm fresh veggies and high quality protein choices are offered at the market, in addition to pantry staples.

We strive to provide our guests with complete meals that would satisfy the guidelines offered through the USDA MyPlate standards. We also added an additional category – healthy snack foods. So often children are going to school with no snack for snack time. Consequently, they struggle to focus. It’s hard to learn if you are hungry. We encourage our guests to look for these labels as they shop in our client choice market.
We are continuously searching for new farms and suppliers to join us in our effort to “Raise the Bar” in creating healthy food security. In addition to the food shopping, there is an educational component offered through a food demonstration. What may be a foreign fruit, vegetable or protein to a client can quickly change once they are shown ways to prepare them. The “Kid’s Corner” of the market offers food based crafts and games. It’s designed to teach our youngsters about nutrition in a fun way! To have a healthy and vibrant community, you need to have healthy residents.

Daniel’s Table currently maintains 23 freezers throughout the city of Framingham, located in the public schools, the YMCA and social service provider offices. These freezers are stocked and maintained by Daniel’s Table staff with freshly prepared frozen meals. Using these freezers our neighbors do not have to travel outside of their local neighborhoods to access meals. We source our food through farm shares, private donations, and community partnerships with several organizations. Some of our Partners include Walden Local Meats, Boston Sword and Tuna, The Nordic Group, Spoonfuls, Boston Area Gleaners, Gaining Ground and Ample Harvest. Our culinary staff and volunteers prepare nutritious meals with five core components (protein, grain, two vegetables, and a soup or pasta sauce) designed to feed a family of four for one mealtime. These meals are sealed, frozen, and transported to freezers in locations throughout the community where those in need can access them. The Daniel’s Table app tracks the meals picked up by our clients and alerts the program when we need to produce and deliver more meals. Daniel’s Table has the capacity to provide 10’s of thousands of meals per year in its current facility with collaboration from its current partners. To this end, we have begun to look for additional partner cities in MetroWest. Daniel’s Table recently surpassed 500,000 meals served to the residents of Framingham.

For many children in our community, school vacations mean no school meals. Losing access to free school meals can be a significant source of stress for families. For many low-income households, this food provides a vital source of daily nutrition that might otherwise be unaffordable.
The Fully Belly Bag Program is a supplemental bag that contains kid-friendly, easy to prepare breakfast, lunch and snack items, empowering children to be able to prepare a meal at home themselves.
